the idea

Sally said, "We should go to New Zealand for a month..."

Ed said, "If we are going over there, we should just go around the world...."

Sally replied, "OK"

The logic could not be denied.....

We will be departing from Portland on December 7, 2007. Following is our initial itinerary, the dates are adjustable and the destinations are set...pretty much. Advice is appreciated and visitors are always welcome!

December 7, 2007-December 30: New Zealand (North Island)
Dec 30-Jan 19, 2008: Australia (Sydney, Gold Coast, Great Barrier Reef, etc)
Jan 19-February 12: Bali (and environs)
February 12-April 15: SE Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia)
April 15-June 15: Mediterranean (Greece, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco)

I've got lots of advice i have been everywhere except the European finish you have, see the South Island of NZ, are you going south from thailand at all, if you have a chance Sumatera is a must, way different than the other part of Indo you'll be seeing, I just want to see what its like after the Tsunami too. And I was just tal;king to someone from Motenegro, better than croatia is what i hear

I can help w/ the European portion but we can review that when we hang out in Raileay Beach & southern Vietnam!!! One tip, may want to cross in to Morocco via the Spanish enclave, avoid Tangier? Less crazy. Leave out of Tangier. More to come. I will miss you!

Hiya from Wilderville. Well I just typed a whole message and then it disappeared when I had to choose a name, and I forget exactly what I said, not a new phenomenon!! Something to this effect: we all enjoy the blog windows into your grand adventure, photos and musings. Maybe we will try this blog site for our next globetrot. Tes and Skye have enjoyed seeing familiar towns from NZ, New Plymouth, Napier, Gisborne...and on to Aus., Sydney...see any fruit bats?? The sun , sand and surf look very attractive to those of us gazing out upon melting snow, and snowfolk; we haven't quite adapted to the Oregon clime, even here in so. OR. Tes and Skye are looking forward to some ski lessons next month, as they are feeling ready to get beyond the practice slopes of Mt. Ashland!
The girls and I are hoping to do some WOOFAing in NZ next winter, while Terry stays on Fiji to get some work going on the property there.
So, we just thought we'd check in so you know that we figured out how to log on to your "message board," and have been following your trail.
Carpe Dium , until next time, xxxTeresa
