Laung Prabaung

Our tour of SE Asia continued into Laos. We stayed a few nights in another Unesco World Heritage spot, Laung Prabang. It is a beautiful town full of temples sitting above the Mekong River. We visited a multi-tiered waterfall, caves full of buddha images, we rented bikes and explored the countryside and local villages, we played cards and watched the sunset before embarking on the night market. Of course we found plenty of time to eat! We figure that we should continue to take advantage of the $1.50 culinary masterpieces of SE Asia, since we might not be able to afford to eat in Europe ; )

That was sooooo good....

Laos beer on the Mekong, fairly epic...

Frangipani......National flower of Laos... And they smell good

Laos BBQ was super fun....We tried water Buffalo. Pretty good, kinda chewy...

Short girl on a shorter bike...

I managed to find the forestry center...There is still hope for me when I get back...

PAk Oh cave along the Mekong river is one of the holiest places in Laos.....Thousands of buddda images fill the caves

Sally impressed me with this jump....

Epic waterfalls

Sally loves Elephants... Sally wants Elephants for X-mas next year...
Laos tortillas?

Saled on the Mekong, how romantic...

"Sticky rice and lao dips my favorite....Ed leave me some.."

Cat nap......

I saw this buffalo jump out of the boat seconds before, impressive....

We loved this place..........Epic.

Looks amazing, yet another place to add to my ongoing list. And thanks to your photos I am now STARVING. Can't believe you are leaving Asia soon - it will be weird to not see Asia photos! Laos & Vietnam look very cool.

What an unbelievable place. Just about the most beautiful photos we have ever seen. The Budda's are wonderful. You both look amazing.
It snowed last Friday. We had about two to three inches at our house.
I am currently putting "ruby red" slippers on and clickink my heels together.
